I did, in fact, fall over for the entire day, except for getting up for a late lunch. Around 8:30 p.m. I went to the grocery store, and got back just as
deguspice's parents showed up. They are spending the night and taking the Very Large Dog away in the morning. I am officially Not Speaking to my father-in-law because of his riduculous and unsafe attitudes about dogs vs. humans. (Which is to say: IMNSHO, dogs need to be trained, all dogs. Jumping up on people isn't OK. It is not deceptive to train a dog basic commands and not give it a treat every single time. Sophie is NOT a "special" dog for whom the rules can be broken.)

Date: 2007-05-25 03:57 am (UTC)I'm a dog person, the bigger the better. I love big lovey huggy dogs, exuberant dogs, spirited dogs, joyful dogs. You are one hundred percent correct. All dogs need to be trained. Not giving a treat every single time is THE WAY CLASSICAL CONDITIONING WORKS. No dog is a special dog, except for those who are rendered untrainable by brain trauma, and those dogs are kept away from almost all people.

Dogs should be trained, and are quite willing to be trained. Dogs like to please they are easily trained.
