So... I finished the main body of the crocheted vest I have been working on. And it's too big, and I somehow really messed up the yarn tension. With proper tension and correct sizing, it would be very attractive. So now... do I rip and start over, throw it away, what? The tension is too messed up for me to give it to someone larger as a gift, BTW.

Help?

Edit: Actually the yarn is such that I could just start at the end of the vest, and go in the other direction (ripping as I go). Hm.

Edit^2: Meanwhile, I checked the website where I got the yarn, and they have a colorway of the same yarn that I like better than this one, which was not quite what I was expecting. Hm^2.

Welcome to the world of knitting mistakes! It's totally up to you. Just remember, if you don't give it away and don't tear it out, it will have been a "wasted project" along with wasted yarn. However, you might have spent so much time on it that you just don't want to deal with that yarn again. Totally understandable, and you get my sympathy.
