I *really* need a seat cushion at work, and the pillow Ben got for me isn't the right thing. After searching around the net, I found The TushCush for $40. (Yes, I do have tailbone issues, thanks to having a big scar from a tailbone abcess that happened 22 years ago...)

Yes, it's worth it. If you don't sit right you can hurt your arms, neck and hands.

Agreed! It's at least partially to compensate for having a chair that's too low and a keyboard that's too high (and no way to change these things...)

If you think that will work for you, I'd say it's definitely worth it.
However, with a little bit of searching, you can probably find it cheaper... how about this? http://www.ekitchengadgets.com/tushcush301072.html
I'm not positive that anything labeled "Tush Cush" is the same thing, though.

That's actually not the same thing, alas (because it is much less expensive!). The one I am seeing all over the web is a wedge shape and is covered in fabric rather than fleece.

Well, I'd say that if that's the thing that will work, it's automatically worth getting, especially if you'll be much less comfortable (and possibly damage yourself, and lose concentration, etc) otherwise.

And in the general scheme of Very Useful Things, $40 isn't really all that much, if it'll work that well and last a while.

If it's the right thing, absolutely (me, I just blew $28 on a more comfortable track ball).

Is there any way you can sit on one before purchasing?

She's right

I blew $90 on a trackball, and $180 on a rollermouse.

And I'm willing to spring $40 so you can sit right.

From last night's search for a pillow:
"No, I'm not going to sit on a chicken."

well, it turns out I am not going to sit on a purple velvet pillow, either. I kept sliding off....

A friend of mine was challenged by his wife to justify his health related expenditures. He expressed surprise that the fact that he looked 20 years younger than her despite being 5 years older was not sufficient argument in and of itself. (I never said he was sensitive)

His reply?

"If you're not spending your money on your body and health, what the f**k is it for? What is more important than being healthy?"

He claims to have won the argument with that.

All in all, that's my convoluted way of saying the cushion is worth the money. If you'll be more comfortable and be able to sit properly, it's worth it, even if it does cramp the budget otherwise.
