sewing machine tune-up?

My Husqvarna/Viking sewing machine needs a tuneup (it's full of fuzz from quilting so much, and the tension has gone slightly wonky). I could just look up the nearest place in a phone book, and go there, but I'd rather get recommendations (or "avoid this place!" notices) from friends. I do need a licensed H/V service center.

Ideally, it would also be a plce willing to look at an old Singer treadle machine and give me a cost estimate for refurbishing (but not electrifying) it.

JNB sewing in Waltham, on Moody Street. They have always been VERY good to my machines, they charge a low price (they tell me when it's not worth spending my money with them) and they were the ones who fixed up my treadle sewing machine nicely (they love old machines). 781.893.3331

I'd trust them with my kids - well my kids sewing machines anyways ;> (just bein' silly) Really though, I've always been completely satisfied with their work and service.

I used to take my machines to them when I lived in Waltham, and I bought the Singer 99K from them (I probably paid a bit too much for it, but it was in perfect condition and is the most reliable -- albeit limited -- machine I have.)

If they are certified to repair Vikings, I will probably make my way over to Waltham soon to drop off the 545.
