This is the divine Ms. Cho on dieting, or the lack thereof.

Not surprisingly, I am of the same general character when it comes to food; dieting is evil, it doesn't work, it just screws up the metabolism so that when one gains weight back, it's even harder to lose the next time.

Love yourself; love your food.

Margaret Cho is indeed a person of the highest order of fabulosity. :)

When we saw her earlier this year, she had a bit about her "fuck it" dieting plan and her "fuck that shit" exercise plan. Hee!

the thing i find a little weird about the essay is that in the middle, she remarks that she is getting thinner. and i just have to wonder if she'd be as joyously fuck-it-all -- indeed, if she'd write an essay about it at all -- if she happened to be gaining weight instead.

(i confess i'm illiterate enough not to be familiar with her general work, though i've heard she is just wonderful.)

*grins* I've been on that diet for a while now...I reccomend it highly. :-) The only time I loose weight is when I don't notice or care about it...that's why there's no scale in my house.

Yep. Intuitive eating is the only thing that really works! Though I would be happier for Ms. Cho if her intuition led her to eat more fruits, vegetables, fresh fish, etc., but whatever...

(Sorry to put my 2 cents in as I am just a passing stranger.)
