Myrtle update

Myrtle is still with us! The sore on her hock, which may be a tumor, is infected, so she gets oral antibiotics and hot compresses, and an opiate painkiller. The vet says she *could* do surgery to debulk the sore, but is reluctant because of Myrtle's age and condition.

The vet just called and say it's a bacterial infection with some other stuff going on.  It's nothing as drastic as a tumor.

This is good to hear, hopefully the anti-biotics will help. Did they give you any advice on how to keep it from getting reinfected? (like using newspaper or papertowels in her littebox instead of litter?)
