The verdict: "possible" hairline fracture of the pelvis (left ischium, I think), or a deep bone bruise. No need for differential diagnosis as the treatment is the same: ibuprofen, heat, and physical therapy.

OH, ow ow ow! I hope the ibuprofen does it, because that sounds horribly painful.

Well, "Vitamin I" does help. When I am taking it, the pain is not constant; I only get pain if I stress the injured area.

Bloody OW. :( *hug* Does this mean that you shouldn't ride for a few weeks so that you can heal up?

Wishing you pain-free times soon!

OWWWWWW. Wishing you a refuah shlemah!

*careful hugs* - my usual hugs are quite forceful and would thus probably hurt you so I'm sending you extra careful hugs

OUCH! *healing vibes*

I sustained a really nasty bone bruise to my back end falling off a horse about 18 months ago. I know it feels like it's never gonna heal, but it does -- I promise! And it stays healed -- I ride 5-6 days a week, and before I bought the baby pony (who doesn't jump yet), I was jumping her brother with no problems/pain at all. :)

Try to get some (very gentle) riding in if you can -- while I was healing, taking a horse for a long walk felt LOADS better than standing on my own two feet!

That's what I am thinking about the riding part. And Minnie-mare needs to be worked *at the walk only* starting next week for a couple of weeks... and neither her owner or her owner's daughter are the slightest bit interested, because they have nice eventing horses they can "do stuff with," rather than a slightly silly elderly TB mare with soundness issues. So I am a lucky girl!

Feel better soon, but in the interim if you need stronger pain killers ask for them.

Whichever it is, I hope it heals quickly. It sounds quite painful.
