The mother of a possible Unauthorized Raspberry Picker came by today with a nice container of tasty raspberries. I can't tell you how much I appreciate this, as opposed to the "My Child Wouldn't" or "What Do You Expect; The Berries Were There for the Picking" school of parenting.

Also, I heard from Tina and she wants me to stay with Bearito and the Monday lesson, but not push to do the bigger jumps until my balance is better. This is fine with me; I may need to look for another lesson barn sometime next year though, if I want to go a lot further with the jumping. But in the meantime, getting to ride the Cute Pony is just fine...

Ah, the raspberries.

I tried to stop them, but one of the older kids said he'd asked you guys and you'd said it was okay. I am far too trusting. Even so, I did swat them away after a point when it seemed to be going too far. I think a warning would be useful in future, of the "no climbing on the pretty pipe thing" variety. Since Ilana was eating them too, can I Paypal you a few bucks?

oh, it's OK. But I did NOT tell any child it was OK to pick raspberries. One did ask about tomatoes and I said that was fine.

I hope Ilana did not get an upset tummy from eating unripe berries. They got *everything* except the very green berries, and under-ripe fruit can cause a tummy upset.

Maybe the kid generalized from tomatoes to raspberries?

Tomato kid is a different kid than raspberry kid.

I need to take the good camera to get some good photos. He's got such a Bad Pony attitude and it shows in the photos...

Bad pony attitude is all I get from this one. And occasionally cooperation, but that took all summer.

Haha, I love pony 'tude! (Possibly because I have one with an attitude just like that ...)

Bearito is ADORABLE!! Gotta love that "Who, me?!" look....

Yeah, the "Who, Me?" look right after he bites my butt is really funny :) He's nippy when getting his girth tightened... not mean, or explosive, he just pins his ears and nips. And not because he doesn't want to be ridden; he really likes to work.

The raspberries were an object lesson. We went out and picked them at Parlee Farms with the specific idea that they were for you to say sorry for eating yours. There should have been a Qt but I failed to put them in the fridge and it was so wet yesterday they molded very quickly. There were LOTS more and we could get more. The kids had a lot of fun doing it so they have found that doing a good thing was fun :)

That is so great! BTW if they'd like to come pick at my place next summer or fall, I'd certainly welcome them. (And the kid who lied about it is NOT one of yours...)
