Strawberry has a litter of 12, so far all doing well and no runts, but they're a bit thinner than they could be. I think it's because for one, she's a petite girl to start, and for two, she's so damn friendly that she's eager to come out WHENEVER she sees or hears me in the rat room, which means she pounces off the babies and starts running around the cage forever. You'd think she'd go into moody momma mode, but nooo, she's as squishy as a fat male.
I call Clownface my "I want one like that!" rat, because everyone who sees her says exactly that. And then I have to explain that no, most of my rats don't look anything like her, but I'm trying to get more interesting markings all the time. (Now of course the boy I'm keeping from Jasmine's litter is a very ordinary black berk -- he doesn't even have a headspot -- but with extraordinary type. ah well.)
She's a really friendly girl, even with babies. She's spending more time with them and is an obsessive nest-builder, but she much prefers hanging out where she can see everything.
