I have been home for nearly two hours and have been taking care of a few essential tasks (including saying hi to the 10 baby rats born yesterday!) I am now very close to falling over, possibly for the entire day. My tummy's still upset, and I'm hoping that returning to a normal diet and cutting way back on the coffee again will take care of the problem.

Tally (rounded off):

Day 1: 2 p.m., Fern Park, FL to 9:30 p.m., Lumberton, NC: 500 miles
Day 2: 9:30 a.m., Lumberton, NC to 10 p.m., New Haven, CT: 700 miles
Day 3: 5:00 a.m., New Haven, CT to 7:15 a.m., home: 150 miles

I think I could have done the drive in two days had I gotten an earlier start on Day 1.

That's true enough, but I spent most of Thursday asleep, in parts of the house where the dog was not allowed.
