I *was* a Doubting Thomas

At 8 a.m. I looked out the window and said, "What big storm?" There were about 2 inches of fresh snow, and a little wind. I was slightly embarassed for having chosen to work at home on what looked to be a normal winter day.
At 10 a.m., I shoveled a little bit (to get to the newspaper, and make a path to/behind my car) and there were about 3 inches of snow, and a little wind. It was sleeting, and I was feeling a bit more like maybe this storm was for real.
Since then, there has been an ugly mix of snow and sleet, at least another inch or two. I don't understand why it's sleeting when it's all of 20 degrees outside. And more wind.
So maybe it is a big storm after all.
