So, I rode on Monday. Tuesday, I woke up with sore legs. Today, I woke up with sore legs. Specifically, hamstrings and whatever those inner groin-y muscles are. My quads are fine, but they've always been fine because they compensate for some of the weirdness of the other leg muscles, so they're nice and strong.

I am riding again tomorrow regardless, although I am hoping for a more gentle ride. I know it's just a matter of time and experience... After tomorrow, the trick is not to backslide during the two weeks I won't be riding.

no need to apologize; it was worth it. As of right now, I have almost no soreness left. Tai chi helped.

Reminds me of the old groaner: "40 Years in the Saddle" by Major Assburn. I hope your thighs adapt quickly.

aieeee!

I really just need to ride once, or hopefully twice, per week to get those muscles back. If I get off my butt and find a place to take lessons again, twice per week is easy (one lesson, one ride with [livejournal.com profile] goddessfarmer for as long as Minnie The Crazy Mare is around.)

i've got a book on yoga for equestrians, if you're interested in alternative exercises when you can't actually ride :)
