I am looking to borrow two things:
1. a female torso mannequin (ideally larger than a size 8!) to wear a poncho in HSPH's employee craft exhibition. The display is right by the security desk so theft will not be an issue.
2. a knitting machine. Ben wants a Dr. Who scarf to replace the one his grandmother made for him, but there is no way I want to knit several hundred rows of garter stitch (can we say borrrring?) by hand.
There was massive traffic suck this morning and I was 45 minutes late to work. Because of a couple of accidents, all inbound routes north of Boston were hosed. My usual 12-minute drive to the commuter rail took 40 minutes; my regular train was late and just pulling out of the station as I drove up! Dammit! I also had to resort to DunkinDonuts for breakfast rather than the HSPH cafeteria yummy oatmeal; one donut is really all I can take because they are so high in fat. And now it's *gone* and I want lunch.
This is one of those mornings when I really wished that commuting out of Ballardvale Station was a viable option. It's not because there is no parking available after 7 or so, and because the train schedule really does not work.
Apparently my default user icon is giving people food cravings...

Date: 2006-09-26 07:42 pm (UTC)Also there is signficant traffic through Ballardvale now because of the Wyeth plant. And I have something against cluttering up other peoples' neighborhoods with commuting traffic, probably because so many commuters whip by our house at 40 mph (yes! on that narrow curvy road) every morning.
it *might* have made a difference this morning, though.
