Meanwhile in mama rat land...

Cowgirl had three babies late yesterday afternoon and it's *possible* she has more (She was still really round when she came off her nest last night. Babies are tiny but have milk in their tums.)

Ramona is in the process of reabsorbing her litter :( Yesterday afternoon, by what Ben told me, she was having an uncomfortable labor (rolling around, stretching out). There was probably a great big pup stuck at the front of the line. Luckily, mama rats are equipped with magical reverse engineering processes to deal with such situations. She'll be fine, but I'll miss the babies. I may try to breed her again one more time.

Ramona's daughter Reba M is HUGE and has a great big nest, so babies are imminent, unless she does something silly like her mama just did.

Not what you were hoping for in ratland :( Hopefully Cowgirl's kids are doing well and Reba M does well. I'm sad that Ramona's reabsorbing, I was really looking forward to seeing her kiddos. I'm glad that all three mommas are ok though.

Sorry to hear the litters didn't work out perfectly, but it's great the momma's sound like they'll pull through okay. Cafe was massive, but only ended up with 4 pinkies.. I imagine there were more that she 'cleaned up' herself. The four left are excellent looking, though.
