For those of you who are local, and go to the Weekly Gathering, for the next 7 months or so I am in tai chi class on Wednesday evenings, so I won't be there (unless class takes a break... which it is supposed to in August.)

I told the WG regular hosts [livejournal.com profile] gosling and [livejournal.com profile] ceo but oops, did not tell anyone else.

Enjoy the tai chi! It's great that you found something physical that you feel you can stick with for a while. :)

It's very gentle, though I can tell you that after class, I can identify every joint with arthritis and every muscle that is chronically spasmed, and it's very very clear that I have hyperextended knees. But it's fun anyway, and there are certain parts of it that I am very good at, like balance. The low center of gravity helps there.

*blink* I don't think I've ever seen anyone post about their attendance or lack of it. I kind of figured noone but the hosts are there regularly anyway. That makes it sound almost mandatory!

No, it's just that Ben went last night and got lots of questions about why I hadn't been showing up.

Aha, that makes sense. I hope you have fun with tai chi!

I picked it up again after about a 6 year hiatus (I used to go to a place in Waltham, but moving and then my shoulder issues interfered.) I am at a new place and have been doing it since the fall, and just moved up from Monday night's beginners course to Wednesday night's intermediate course.

That's a healthy activity and kinda fun to watch in a zen/trance sort of way.

hrm... i am interested in finding a tai chi place that i can go to regularly -- meaning (for me) a good teacher and a location that easy to get to & park at

well, I'm going in Andover, which would be a haul for you. And the place I used to go to in Waltham closed... sorry I cannot be more helpful!
