Thanks to everyone who responded yesterday.

The dog was much better last night, probably because she'd had a long, exhausting romp with another puppy. She was still damp and smelly, but this morning her coat actually looked really nice. (Rain is good for *my* curly hair; maybe it is good for hers, too...)

I slept in the room with her and Ben and we all did fine. I got up at 6:30 to take her outside, and then went back to bed and slept until 10, and she didn't bother us at all.

She needs training, and we will talk with Ben's parents about this when they get back. We may call on [livejournal.com profile] wren13 to back us up.

Part of my issue is that when I am working, I just need a steady routine, and the dog disrupts it pretty badly.

And I am still SO not a dog person. I like my animals small and containable.

H hear ya. Even the ones that are less-than-well-trained or sweet-natured are easier to deal with when they are smaller and less slobber-prone. I'm not particularly a dog or cat person. Cats are too hauty for me and dogs have way too little common sense.

Ditto.

awww, dawgs are just the most wubbable creatures! But then, some people like rats, some people like snakes, some like horses, some like 'em all, and some can't stand any of them!

I understand, however. If someone asked me to take care of their snake or tarantula, I'd likely squick out and not be able to deal.

I just need a steady routine, and the dog disrupts it pretty badly.

And if the disruption also makes you short on sleep, that can make things ten times worse!

Me too. I also like mine low-maintenance. I would SO never have cats if [livejournal.com profile] stuartc weren't such a good caretaker. I love most kinds of animals but I'm rotten at taking care of anything and I know it.

Glad I could help. I'll call if I have Saffron on Monday.

If Saphie would like to come over and play, please come over (but call
first).

Also, if Saphie is available on Tuesday, Ann would love to see the two of
them play together.

I hate dogs. They smell, drool, and get muddy pawprints everywhere, and jump on you. My parents dog is not allowed in the house for just this reason. Yuck. I hear there are well-behaved dogs, and even met some in France. I am amazed you have the fortitude to have one in your house for that long.
