quote of the evening

"It's so cold, my tears were freezing to my face."
I am taking care of a friend's cats for the week. Tonight was when I was supposed to start, but I could not get one of the door keys to work. I tried and tried, I called her cellphone and had her walk me through it, and it would not work. My fingers, even gloved, were frozen. It is about 8 degrees out there and windy. At some point, she had to tell me to stop standing on her porch meeping at her and go sit in the truck, which has heat. We decided that Ben will deal with this tomorrow (including getting the second set of keys if needed -- I could not do this tonight for various reasons...)
So the above quote is what I told Ben when I got home. Now that I am here, I am writing and attempting to keep the cat from inserting hairs into my laptop computer.
8:30 a.m. tomorrow is not going to be fun.
