I am not very good at waiting for things I really want. And right now, at this very moment, I have two things to wait for, one that should happen within the next hour, and the other that could take until summer. gah.

I unofficially joined the Knitting Olympics. This is a challenge, to knit something from start to finish within the time period of the Winter Olympics (10Feb - 26Feb). Something like 6000 knitters are taking part. It's unofficial because I picked my project a day late. I chose a toddler sweater in a rather luscious Tactel ribbon. Had I been thinking, I would have chosen something with less purling, because purling is awkward. Knitting in the round (all knit stitch, no purling) is my friend, and my project is not knit in the round. So, if I get the front and the back (and maybe one sleeve) done, I will be happy.

I *have* finished a couple of things recently, namely another toddler sweater and a pair of convertible mittens (mittens with a little cap that can be flipped back, revealing fingerless -- or nearly so -- gloves beneath.) And something else which I am forgetting...

I considered participating, but I'm glad I didn't; I've got two ongoing projects that have to be done by the end of the month, so it's not the time to start something else.

(Though if I finish them early, I may see if I can set a personal sock-knitting speed record....)
