Nov. 24th, 2005 02:24 pmin vermont. The puppy (Sophie) is adorable. She's 3 months old, probably weighs 35 pounds, and is twice as big as she was about 5 weeks ago. I think she *wants* to please, but she's still a baby and can't help but be naughty sometimes. (Biggest problem is chewing on stuff -- though she will usually let go if you tell her to -- and jumping up on people -- which will be a problem when she's 100 pounds! But she does know "get down" and will quite happily accept praise for doing that.)
I have taken her for two walks in the snow, which she has enjoyed, except for the fact that I am too slow for her when she wants to run! She's asleep at my feet right now...
The ritual giving-of-thanks has never really resonated with me that much, but at the moment I am very thankful for being here, and for one person who was kind enough to spend 35 minutes on the phone reassuring me yesterday (and it might have been more, but we were losing signal as we headed away from I-93...)
