Dec. 31st, 2002 02:24 pm100. I was born (on March 14, 1964) and raised in San Diego.
99. My parents were "older" when I was born, and I was a "surprise", though a wanted one.
98. I have an adopted little brother, Alan, who is a super-athlete and super-nice-guy -- and more than a foot taller than me.

92. I attended a math-science-computers magnet high school, which made San Diego more bearable, for a while.
91. I went to Reed College in Portland, OR.
90. While at Reed, I did not do drugs, except for marijuana twice and mushrooms twice.

88. I lost my virginity at 19, to a boy whose mom was a sex therapist. yes, it was good :)

73. Cognitive behavioral therapy and meds help with #74.
72. I am still quite shy and sensitive.
71. Some people consider me guarded, which is true. I'm very self-conscious.
70. But when I trust someone, I tend to rattle on at them.
69. I am especially sensitive about my looks and weight. Growing up in Southern California did a number on me, in that regard.
68. If I could change one physical feature, I'd get rid of the diabetes.
67. I am not a neat person.
66. At the same time, too much clutter overwhelms me.
65. I wish I could have a housecleaner, but that's not an option right now.
64. I spent a year, after college, making technical illustrations of nuclear reactors on a Macintosh.
63. Then I went to graduate school in Missouri and got a master's degree.
62. I'd intended to get a Ph.D. in Clinical psychology, but didn't have the social skills or the temperament to be a therapist.
61. #62 caused great anguish
60. Missouri admitted me and gave me fellowship money because I did very well on the GRE.

28. I tested out as highly gifted, but nearly blind :)
27. My parents decided not to send me to a school for highly gifted children, because they thought I needed to learn how to get along with "normal" kids. This is the one serious mistake I think they made in raising me.

25. #26 doesn't mean I'm really into sex. I was, but it's not a prime motivator in my life anymore.

23. I can be fairly cranky about other peoples' badly-behaved children, though I tend to keep quiet about it at the time.

Date: 2003-01-01 08:53 pm (UTC)Hey, me too! It wasn't that I was so into horses necessarily, but when I was in nursery school I had a bit of an identity crisis or something and for a while called myself "Laurie the horse". :)
