two more things...
Aug. 15th, 2005 12:03 am1. I am really affected, in a bad way, by what is going on in Gaza. I lukewarmly support the pullout, mostly because it will allow the Israeli military to give other tasks to those 40,000 or so soldiers who have been protecting the 8000 residents of the Gaza settlements. But I don't expect peace now, and not in my lifetime most likely. My goal for the next week or two is to avoid the news, beyond the bare minimum. This means switching all the radios in the house from WBUR to WXRV. Music instead of madness.

Date: 2005-08-15 10:54 pm (UTC)I think my SRR boy will be my first rat in a loooong time that's not coming from someone either in Michigan or in a state touching Michigan, not including the shipment, anyway. x.x

Date: 2005-08-16 07:58 pm (UTC)I know what you mean about the disengagement. I'm reading about it because not knowing is worse than knowing. I saw your comments in WJ and glanced back here to make passing conversation. It's really a divisive topic of conversation among my other Jewish friends - we've all just left it off the table to save hurt feelings. We can't change anything, and I'm naively hoping that it might give everybody the distance to eventually move closer to peace. I'm with you - some of the things said by the settler children were really disturbing.

Many times I have said that I never ever thought I would call a rat "cute" but then again, here I am...
"Awwww...how cute" :)
Seems by your profile that we have a few things in common! Figured I'd say hello!
