riding log
Aug. 21st, 2007 06:26 pmSo Miss Minnie got a week and a half off after our show; I'd intended for her to have 5 days off, but I hurt my neck and could not ride until today.
She was sooooo happy to be out and about again. Yes, she was hyper, as happens when she is not ridden for a while. We rode outside, because it was cool enough that the bugs were down, so she had her standing martingale on. She took exception to the white ducks we rode by, and wasn't quite sure about the backhoe, until she crowded up against her best friend Trump, and copied his means of coping, which was to eat clover. (Yes, we allowed them. Trump has been at a barn with no real turnout for the past nearly a week, and was desperate to graze.) But overall, she was a good girl.
I also found out that my instructor at Windrush in the fall will be someone I really like, Tina. She not only works there; she was one of their clients after she had a terrible (as in potentially unable to walk for the rest of her life, permanent brain damage) riding accident. She dug in and did most of her rehab there, and is now mostly OK. And she is a great instructor.
