how's Myrtle doing?
Jul. 15th, 2005 01:18 pmShe's just fine. She's eating a lot. I slept in the addition last night and unblocked the stairs, but she did not come up to join me. It's probably too hard on her joints.
Spook, however, did join me, and kept waking me up all night because he was SO! HAPPY! that I was there. He'd bump me, start meowing and purrring, and then want at least 15 or 20 minutes of scritching.
Spook's on top. Myrtle has an asymmetrical face because she has almost no teeth...

Date: 2005-07-15 10:36 pm (UTC)If my (brief) experience with her is a guide, she seems to be somewhat a creature of habit and a bit slow to change... and even then she needs some reward to do so. For the first several days she kept to the couch in my living room, then gradually started making her way to the bedroom when she discovered I was there a lot of the time. Towards the end she was hanging out on my bed and lap, even though it was a bit of a climb to get there.
If you sleep in the addition regularly she may eventually decide to climb the mountain and join you :)
