up too late

deguspice is at the new Star Wars movie, and before he left he told me not to stay up too late.

But Myrtle wanted to be in my lap about 2 hours ago, so I picked her up. And she's still here. As far as she is concerned, my job is to be a Lap for her until she decides she wants something else.

Our time together is undoubtedly drawing to a close. So, since I don't have to work tomorrow, here I sit.

shortly after I typed this, she decided it was time for more food.

That sounds worth the cost in lost sleep to me. Myrtle will eventually be gone. But you will have wonderful memories of the times she spent sleeping in your lap. And you will not regret having gotten up before she was ready to.

I agree.

I've learned in the last few days that I will NEVER regret time spent with the people and animals I care about. Sleep can be made up later.

A lot of things are less important that quality time with your pets. I'm already regretting a lot of things I did last week instead of spending time with FuzzFace, a mistake I will NOT be repeating when she comes home.
