oh yeah, it's the flu

So... I didn't teach today. I asked the dept. to find me a sub. And with Ben's help, went off to the doctor, primarily to get a note saying I could have the rest of the week off. The stress of, let's see, showering, eating, and riding in the car, then sitting around at the doctor's office, caused a fever, followed by a 3+ hour nap (and I'd still be asleep except Ben woke me up for dinner).

So it's the flu. And because I nominally work in a health care setting, I need to stay away from work at least until Monday. I let Janet know. She sent me a nice email of the "lie low and eat chicken soup!" variety.

I seem to have lost a little weight, probably because food is just not that interesting, and leaving my little nest in the guest bedroom is even less interesting than that...

A variety of navel-gazing is happenning, but I'm still composing it. More sleep....

Bah! But at least she's being understanding. Rest, and get better soon. It sounds like you've been doing a pretty good job about that anyway.
