I am way overextended, and still sick, but having Myrtle in my lap interfering with my typing just rocks :)

Last night, she tried to jump from the floor to my lap, and almost made it. She got latched into my sweatpants over my thigh with her one front paw, and discovered that she could not pull herself up to my lap with only one leg... Luckily I grabbed her and hauled her up the rest of the way.

Of course, now that she is used to being in my lap, she complains mightily if I don't let her be in it...

It's been 2 years since her problem started, and 22 months since her leg was amputated, and I am amazed that she's still here.

It's certainly shifted my opinion of such things; I remember at the time thinking it was a horrible thing to do to a cat (not that the alternative wasn't worse), and that the poor beast wouldn't last all that much longer one way over the other. Here's hoping she keeps on going!

Sounds like my Ralphie, going under the knife with grim prognosis then turning around and wildly beating everyone's expectations. Go kitty! :)
