that new hobby
Nov. 17th, 2004 05:05 pmwell, I have taken to knitting! It's fun.
The Ginormous Sweater (my first project) is either half done or almost done, depending on whether the latter version is too small. I need to baste the front and back together and see if it fits around my hips.
I have a little scarf almost done. It is made with Artful Yarns Broadway, which is a strand of variegated mohair together with a strand of shiny thread with beads. It's not an easy yarn to work with, but it's so fuzzy that all of my mistakes are hidden.
And then... I fell in love with this. It is basically a big triangle, all knit stitch. Orange is not really my color, so I have changed the colors a bit to a pinkish-greenish variegated yarn, with dark green, very dark rose, and dark gold as the other colors. If you go here and click on Wool color cards, the main color is 113, and other colors are X, 53, and 55. Yum! And the yarn is hand-dyed by a collective in Uruguay....
