the mother of all headaches
Sep. 24th, 2004 12:14 pmOff work again, sigh. I am now far enough behind that I will be working Sunday afternoon, even though it's a part-time job (17.5 hours per week).
I had a fairly scary blood sugar crash right before I went to bed (meaning that it snuck up on me and I didn't figure out why I was feeling so weird until I was feeling *really* weird.) Sometime during the night, I woke up with the Mother of all headaches, which is fairly common after a crash like this.
I stupidly did not get out of bed to treat it. This was at least partially because, somewhere in the back of my brain, something was saying that I should not take aspirin or ibuprofen. But I couldn't remember why.
When the alarm went off, I staggered out of bed. My head was throbbing, ow ow ow. I figured out why I couldn't take aspirin or ibuprofen -- it is less than a week to my endoscopy, and I am not supposed to take any NSAIDs. Tylenol would be OK, but wouldn't touch this headache...
I decided to stay home. Then I realized that I *could* take a heavier painkiller. Oxycodone-tylenol, you are my friend! I still feel the pain; I just don't care. When I start caring, I'll take another one. But it's making me *really* loopy.

Date: 2004-09-24 11:06 am (UTC)I like your description of how the oxycodone/tylenol made you feel, if only because a) that's how *I* feel on that type of med and b) that's how the textbook *says* you're 'supposed' to feel. Gives me faith in the system, y'see.
Feel better soon!
