I am over at the new job now, and most of the data entry staff (with whom I share a large office) speak Spanish. My new PI, Janet, speaks fluent Spanish, so she usually uses that to talk to them. My new project has all Latino/Hispanic participants, so all the forms are in Spanish.

I think I will learn more than the few Spanish nouns and phrases that I know now.

I have that feeling when the custodial staff is around (they all speak Portuguese). I'm tempted to take a course in it.

Hopefully the language barrier won't be a problem for you.

Probably the one foreign language that is really useful for an American to learn. But when I was traveling in Mexico, I started to realize just how much Spanish one learns in the US...
