This is part of the whole thing, blocks laid out but not sewn together.

And this is a detail of a block. They all have fairies in the center like this:

Now I just need to figure out who to give it to... one friend, or another friend?

that's cute! I like the fairy fabric (both, but specifically the center fabric). Nifty.
Is it going to be quilted or tied? What's the size?

Right now I have 48 blocks, which will work out to roughly 68 by 51 without borders. It could be a nap quilt (for an adult) or a twin quilt, with a few more blocks or big borders. If I do wide borders, there will be an inner border of gold tone-on-tone roses and outer border of piano keys using the fairy fabrics, with gold binding.

The darker fabrics were part of a bundle of coordinating half-yards I got from fabric.com. There are some I didn't use in the blocks, which will go on the back (I often piece backs from leftover fabric...) BTW the blue strip has fairies, too. Ben didn't say anything about my chopping off their heads (which I had to do to get the strips), but in the past he's indicated that this bothers him :)

I haven't decided whether to quilt it or tie it. I like quilting, but it's more time-intensive.

Holy Cow! That's *SO* cute!

(I'd say bring it over so we can see it on the 1st, but I think Boudicca would try and steal it, so it might be safer not to. :>)

I'm still trying to decide whether to bring it. I might bring just one block...

Also, I probably have enough of the fabric leftover -- especially if I don't make any more blocks -- that I could give it to you for a nap quilt for Boudicca (not like you need another project, but...)

You know, I'd give it to Boudicca if it didn't make me feel obligated to turn out three more quilts for your kids in short order... OTOH, if I am going to be minimally employed this fall, I might be able to do that.

I am the Mistress of Indecision!

That's a sweet thought!

Fwiw, my kids don't seem to have that "where is mine" thing if one person gets something and the other doesn't. We have never "made sure" they got fair or equal ammounts of gifts, or at the same time, so they don't seem to realize that they "should" or "could" all get something.

Likewise they often give a gift to one person when inspired and not another, so perhaps it's just a natural thing they feel.

Just a reminder too, I have your olfa mat!
