moving psychodrama EIT
Aug. 25th, 2002 09:21 amdeguspice and I are on vacation in California. I'm happy that, completely coincidentally, this allows us to be away from all the Boston-area moving psychodrama (though from reading LJ, it sounds like people are so happy that the process is happening that the psychodramata have been put aside.).
Now we are out here, in San Diego, only to encounter my father's moving psychodramata. EIT!
One is related to him and his wife moving into a bigger place (the drama there being primarily the amount of planning, as well as the fact that the new place is extremely rundown and will not be ready for 30 days. The previous tenant had lived there for 16 years and apparently was a bit of a "collector").
The other related to my 88 year old great-uncle's desire to move from a nursing home back to his house, and my dad's insistence that he not do so... and my dad and Helen not taking into account that G-U is dying slowly, and isn't in his right mind much of the time, and that all his threats and bad behavior are as much a function of that as any personal feelings towards them.
sigh.
Other than that, San Diego is lovely as usual, and deguspice and I have some nice, not-very-touristy activities planned for today.†
