Two things of note for "larger" women:

If you are into trendy, throw-away, junior clothes, the store DEB now carries a nice range of larger sizes. They had a lot of peasanty blouses, jeans with interesting fading and laces, sweaters etc. when I was there. They have interesting things to wear to parties or cons, at relatively inexpensive prices. I didn't have time to try anything on, but could tell that their "plus sizes" still run small (e.g. I would need a 1X there, while in misses sizes I wear a Medium or a Large). The one I went to is in the Woburn Mall, but there are others.

Be glad you don't live in New York City, or at least that you are not a part of the "Social Xray" set there. The latest issue of Vanity Fair has an ad from a "plus size" store for those people, and "plus size" apparently starts at size 10! I can see how all those folks get so f*cked up in the head.
