This is probably not of interest to many people... but, my last hemoglobin A1c (a measure of diabetes control) was 7.3; 6.5-7.0 is the ideal target for a diabetic, and anything under 8.0 is fine, so I'm happy.

Cholesterol was 179, which is lower than it has been in a while. Triglycerides were 95, which is normal. HDL and LDL balances were good. No statin drugs required here!

The various blood and urine tests that can pick up kidney disease were all normal.

The only thing not normal were various red blood counts, which were all below normal. So I am still anemic, even on a good sized dose of iron. sigh.

Well, there's always one thing that's out of wack at a doctor's visit.

Glad to hear the rest of the tests had good results.

yeah, at this point the anemia is just chronic, and for the usual female reasons. I've actually had it for as long as I can remember; taking an iron supplement at twice the usual dose** gets my hemoglobin/ferritin levels into the barely normal range and makes me energetic enough to (barely) deal with a full-time workload.

** I probably should go up to 3 times the usual dose, since I take it with food to avoid an upset stomach (and because in my experience, I forget to take medicine unless I take it at a meal time...)
