more adventures in destruction
Feb. 20th, 2004 09:55 amHad an interesting chat with David the carpenter this morning. He thinks the part of the house where the kitchen is is *much* older than the rest of the house, because it is timber framed. What we have been calling the oldest part of the house is about 135 years old; this could be 200 years old. It's possible that it was moved from somewhere else... must send Ben off to dig in the town records ASAP :)
David started pulling down wallboard, and is discovering all sorts of odd things, mostly quite ancient animal droppings, mouse nests, etc. One mouse nest had a little skeleton mouse head sticking out of it... slightly squicky, but cool anyway.
Ben says he will set up a website for the curious...
