I wore shorts to the party yesterday... NOT because I expected sympathy for the bruises on my left leg, but because I wanted people to see that they were there and not bump into my leg. (The bruises are from getting "bitten" by a 30 year old dishwasher door with sprung springs... I need a job, so we can remodel the kitchen and get a new dishwasher with a lighter door and functional springs.)

The party was really nice, as usual. And as usual, I didn't enjoy it until the crowd had thinned out a bit, and most of the kids had either left or fallen asleep :)

Noticed the bruises, which were impressive. Outwardly, it looked like you were holding your own against the onslaught of kids (wow, were there a lot of them!) and the general crowd.

Sorry we stayed late and didn't remove our children from the party soon enough (smile). Thanks again for relinquishing the couch to me.

I noticed the bruises and had meant to inquire, but got distracted. Yay sleep deprivation.

But, your kids are *fine*. It's some of the slightly older, more rambunctious ones, and the Really Whiny Toddlers, that get to me the most.
