Well, Minnie has a beautiful summer coat; she is very shiny these days. She's had a slight adjustment in diet and might be putting on a little weight, which she really needs. And she's bay with no white markings except for a star, so she doesn't show much dirt.
Her mane, though, will be an issue. She has a very long mane for a TB, about 10 inches at the longest part, and it falls equally on both sides of her neck. *I* think it's beautiful, but it's certainly not the dressage standard! I wouldn't want to clip it though, because it provides protection from flies, and she is very sensitive to fly bites. I could see doing a 2 inch bridle path, just for neatness.
