You know that Ramona is one of Paige's daughters, right? Her brother Romy, the father of the last litter, is just as gorgeous, though he doesn't have her great big bugeyes. (Actually, he has some sort of odd tear duct issue, so his eyes often look dull. Saline solution helps, but I fear he's going blind.)
Cowgirl proved to me this evening just how... inventive rats can be. I have her and Reba M in a divided maternity cage with a top that opens. I opened it up, rested it against the wall, looked away for a moment, and there was Cowgirl, all the way up! Damn rat nearly gave me a heart attack!
As of this morning, there were *still* no babies! Damn rats. Both girls have big nests, though. And Ramona's daughter Reba M, who is due Sunday, is bigger than both of these girls... She might be going for grandma's record of 18 babies.
Annnnnn.. I must get more rats from you someday. I've got a marked litter here born Wednesday, and another one the way any day now, both Black and American Blue with some DU. My last few litters have been 'toned down' with markings, so it'll be nice to see spotties again.
