Feb. 21st, 2003 05:07 pm1. What is your favorite childhood memory?
From when I was very small, sitting on my dad's knee while he recited a rhyme about how different kinds of horses move, and jogged his knee up and down to demonstrate what the rhyme said.
2. Do you get along with your parents?
Well, my mom died in May 2000, so... My dad and I get along fine, except he's in San Diego and I'm here, so we don't talk a whole lot, or see each other more than once or twice a year. And his new wife is, um, kind of demanding of him, so there's a little bit of a barrier there.
3. Did you ever go on family vacations? If so, what was your favorite?
Lots and lots. The best were the 1-week camping trips in the Sierra Nevada; we'd go with a big group from Sierra Club and get our gear packed in on mules to some semi-remote location (and my parents sometimes let me ride a horse in rather than hike, since I was so horse-crazy...)
4. Do you still have something from your childhood that you cherish?
I have a couple of my plastic Breyer horses.
5. Do you want to raise your kids like your parents raised you?
I am not having kids, so this is a non-issue. However, I think that if I did have kids, I'd approach the task of raising them similarly.
