For those crafters/quilters/knitters etc. in and around Boston, Fabric Place's 25% off EVERYTHING sale is happening RIGHT NOW through Sunday.

(I am considering calling a foo for the Woburn one, to have lunch at Panera, followed by shopping, either Saturday or Sunday. I may not be buying anything (ha!) but I really want to see my friends! Let me know if you might be interested, and what day works better for you.)

Hrm....does Fabric Place in Woburn actually stock yarn? The one by Lechemere doesn't have anything (or anything much)....

oh, and if you do a foo, I'd be interested in Sunday. Maybe going somewhere for a knitnight/afternoon afterward?

I am confused; there is no Fabric Place by Lechmere. (There is a discount fabric store. For Fabric Place, think of Joann's but with MUCH better merchandise and higher prices.)

BTW -- Sunday would work. I'd invite folks up to our place afterwards but it's a complete disaster...

I would be interested, I have been thinking about going to FP for a couple weeks now because I'm looking for a particular fabric, I know I found locally but didn't find at JoAnns and FP is the only other option. I jsut haven't gotten around to it.

Sunday is better for me. G is gaming that day and I am on my own.

My place in Watertown is available Sunday afternoon. It's not huge, but six or eight people sitting and knitting (or crocheting) will fit comfortably. It's even clean, I've been spring cleaning all week before I start my new job.

Oh...hrm. Maybe there's one in Newton/Needham that I pass by and keep thinking, "I should go in there, then." There's something in the Twin Cities plaza that's a fabric store; I wasn't thinking of the fabric place on Cambridge St (I know that's not a chain...).

I'd be interested if I could get a ride from someone--either day would work for me. I'm working on a knitting project right now, but I just got Debbi Stoller's new crochet book (The Happy Hooker), and would be interested in learning to crochet, as there's a cute little top in there that I'm eyeing...anyone interested in teaching me?

That would be Sew-Fisticated Fabrics (I kid you not, that's really the name)--lots of good fabric at great prices, but no yarn or related supplies, alas.

You're thinking of "Sew-fisticated" I think. No yarn there, and the fabric selection is uneven.

Teach me not to scroll down.... :-p

Prices are great, but I have found that sometimes the selection is fabulous, and sometimes I can't find anything I want.

I could teach you. Not this weekend though, as I am booked both days....

They have lots of yarn. If you've seen any of the scarves that Ann has made, most of the yarn has come from there.

Just tell me when, quietann, and I'll show up. I even think I know where my $ off coupon is for this month! Saturday or sunday are both fine for me.

My $ off coupon is sitting on my desk, it only came in the mail yesterday. And I can give you your video tapes...

I was actually going to pick up some yarn for a friend who's making booties for Joshua, so that would be neat. Sunday will be better for me, as Wolf will need the car for work on Saturday.

I'd be interested in Saturday, if I can bring Liana; Sunday is full.

Hi there - just a quick note to say I've received your email about the Bujold ficathon, but my responses have unfortunately bounced back :-(

Anyway, just to say that I received your email, and that I'm delighted you're taking part - and thank you for prompting me to post about it: I've been dithering for a while about whether or not to suggest and your prompt encouraged me to give it a go!

Why thank you :)

The only thing is, now I want to write about Lady Donna and her laywer myself. One of my friends issued a "Let's Give Them Something to Talk About" fic challenge, and I could make them work nicely for it. (though I'd be interested in seeing what someone else would do with that...)

It's odd that the responses are bouncing; lse.org is run by a friend of mine, and the spam filters are more or less customized. hurm.

Anyway, try using quietann at gmail dot com instead...

I can trim it from your request, if you like - still plenty of time before the assignments go out. Or, as you say, it might be interesting to see someone else's take.

Thanks for the other contact address, much appreciated.

keep it in... the deadline for my friend's challenge is May 1, so I'll finish mine before I see the other person's, if that's what they write.
