I keep insulin pump supplies in my desk at work, so I can refill the pump if needed. I was not expecting the set (the tubing with the needle that goes into my belly fat) to be defective. I have about an hour before I start feeling really crappy due to lack of insulin. (I have Type 1, which means my body makes *no* insulin at all.)

deguspice is on his way down from Andover with everything I need, and spares. I love him.

Oh no, I hope he makes it in time. Last time I had a gathering you were sick because of some insulin issues.

I'm suprized you don't keep some of the inhaled or injectable handy in case something like this happens. Can you even use the inhaled stuff?

Well, this is your *life* we're talking about. For that level of emergency, it would be out of character for just about everyone on your flist not to respond with speed.

If I recall correctly, the sets are bulky enough that you don't want to carry one around with you, and pricy enough that you can't leave spares everywhere. Having a syringe or two with you for emergencies sounds like an excellent alternative. I hope you're well.

I drove down there and delivered the pump supplies to Ann. She replaced the defective tubing with the new parts I brought with me. I also brought two extra sets, so Ann has a backup for the next time she changes her set.
