I've gone insane.
Jan. 4th, 2006 07:47 pmIn slightly over one week, I've gone from thinking that slashfic is silly, "but whatever floats your boat" to reading a really good example... to writing little snippets of it. Which I have posted on the Web. For now, it's snippets, and for now, it's all about Gregor from the LMB books.
I am overjoyed to be writing anything creative. It has been... close to 20 years, and I'm enchanting myself with the flow of words. Even derivative words.
I'm creating an opt-in filter, and you know what to do if you want to be on it...
But if you're thinking of calling me names, or pitying me, or anything like that, don't bother. I'm already doing it to myself.

Date: 2006-01-05 01:51 pm (UTC)I'm not much for slashfic, and therefore am not asking to opt in, but I *completely* get it about suddenly finding an outlet for a need to write.
Go with it!

Date: 2006-01-05 05:21 pm (UTC)(i'm not big on slash myself, but that's mostly because there so much absolute crap out there. the concept itself can be quite charming. there was a piece of gregor/mark slash i read which was absolutely amazing -- i didn't think anyone could possibly write that and have it ring psychologically true, but they did. wow. i wish i could FIND it -- if i do, i'll send it along.)

Date: 2006-01-05 08:20 pm (UTC)Considering the Star Trek Slash Fic I wrote for one of my exes back in college, I'm hardly in a position to toss insults around when it comes to such things. I'd be interested in reading it.

Date: 2006-05-15 02:38 pm (UTC)Ah, so it had a similar effect on you, too, then! LOL I'd not have guessed, especially since it was stumbling across your pieces was what inspired me to up and do some writing.
It's (obviously) up to you if you want to opt me in. You would have to friend me, and I might well clutter up your f-page with mostly non-Vorkosiverse stuff (though I feel at least a short run of fic coming on), though I do try to lj-cut stuff that gets too lengthy. Also, I clearly overuse the word "though" a lot. ;-)
