brief update
Dec. 1st, 2005 06:38 pmI had another conference call at 8:30 this morning, but this one I didn't have to go into work for. And I can count the time against the extra-long lunch I will be taking on Tuesday for Arisia stuff.
Then, after various morning routines, I went off to see
tigerbright and her baby. I'd actually seen them last night, but today I was able to take them to do several errands (since they don't have a car during the day).
Most amusing thing: I held the Joshlet and fed him while
tigerbright was taking care of some paperwork at Cambridge Hospital, and I had to tell 3 different people that he isn't mine! He has red hair and blue eyes and a round face, and so do I, so it's not surprising that people were confused. But really, he looks way more like his parents than he looks like me.
Babies are cute, but I am glad that someone else is having them and doing most of the hard stuff...
Home now, and dinnered. Need to feed critters and then I may well go to sleep, because I have an 8:30 Skype chat scheduled with one of the Botswana staff, and for this one, I do have to go to Boston, which means getting up at 6 a.m.

I had a similar moment at Worldcon this year when Paul S. asked me, "So, that baby you were hanging out with earlier, that wasn't yours was it?" I assured him that she was in fact someone else's baby daughter. He looked visibly relieved that his world view had not been irreparably shattered...
