I need to memorize the new Anderson-Woburn train schedule. I missed my regular train (8:45) because of a traffic jam ("from Methuen to Somerville" according to the radio traffic report). I thought the next one wasn't until 9:35, so I sat inside the station and read, and completely missed that there was a 9:15 train until I looked out the window at 9:16 and saw it pulling away. Duh.
For anyone in or around Boston who likes weather, get a look at the current radar. A line of red, hundreds of miles long, approaching us quickly. And a flood warning! Whee!
I saw a flyer downstairs for an apartment for rent in Somerville. 4BR, 2BA, $2000/month (I hope it's near the Red Line for that price!) Newly remodeled, lots of nice stuff like central A/C, in-unit laundry not requiring coins, "huge" bedrooms, a gas stove with a European external ventilation system.... And an "open concept living room-dining room-kitchen with skylights." OK, sounds nifty... until one looks at the photos and realizes that the three skylights over the kitchen area appear to be the *only* natural light source in that huge room! There are no windows AFAIK! No wonder that fancy European ventilation system is required! Why would anyone remodel and forget the windows?!?!?!
And that is all. back to work...
