well duh... (movie poster update)
Jul. 9th, 2006 02:43 pmI emailed SteveR, who responded quickly and with fond memories of my "Seems like we have the same taste in men" line.
The movie I was trying to remember was Another Country, made in 1984, and the actor was Rupert Everett, who was among the first actors to declare that they were openly gay. It was his breakthrough role, and since then he's specialized in playing slightly off-kilter men, both gay and straight. For a while after he came out, he had to go to Italy to get any roles. And he is pretty indeed ;)
The poster does not seem to be available anywhere, but I will let the folks at The Nostalgia Factory, whose daughter is a susboid, know that I am looking for it. Now I want to find the DVD, but there are reports that the DVD version is missing about 20 minutes of the movie. Wha????
