part 3 -- Quilting, or lack thereof
Jun. 4th, 2004 12:39 pmA friend asked me recently what ever happened to the quilt I started for him. The answer is, well, nothing since I started it.
Since I started my job, the *only* quilting I have done has been part of organized classes -- 2 "Midnight Madness" events and a watercolor quilt class (and there I haven't actually sewn anything, just gotten the pieces more or less arranged).
It's not that I want it to be this way. I am now completely down on myself, because last year I was essentially idle for 6 months, and while I did finish a couple of baby quilts, there is so much more I could have done!
I have a really hard time seeing a project through to the end, before starting something else. So I have a lot (you don't want to know how many, really) of UFOs laying around. Some have been laying around for years, including one that has been "almost done" for 4 years now!
One thing I have realized is that I enjoy social quilting. Solitary quilting has to be accompanied by a *really good* radio program, and I am just not finding much out there that I like.
Also, with the rats etc. I am lucky to have a few minutes a day for anything else. Sigh.
