I don't belong to Costco, but apparently there is good reason to support them:

Costco's Love of Labor

Costco pays its workers better and gives them better benefits. Wall Street bashes on them for this, because it "decreases shareholder profits." Well, boo-hoo.

1. What is your middle name? Muir, after naturalist John Muir (a possibly distant relation...)

2. If you had been born the other sex, did your parents tell you what your name would have been? Andrew. Actually, my parents for some reason expected a boy, and when I was born they had to come up with a girl's name on the fly. (BTW if I'd been born on my due date -- March 17 -- I would have been Patricia or Patrick. ugh!)

3. Do you have children and if so, what are their names? No, no, a thousand times no!

4. If you were to ever have a child or more children, what would you name them? I have not really thought about it. However, I like my mom's choice, if she'd known about it when I was born: Encelia, a type of wildflower. Easily shortened to Celia or Cee-Cee or Celie.

5. Most people know their mother's maiden name, but do you know your grandmother's maiden name? Maternal: Suffis Paternal: Roblee

6. Did you have an imaginary friend as a child? I had an entire fantasy world and it did include an imaginary friend, Galia, who eventually morphed into a Goddess.

7. What was the name of your first pet? Rachela, a cat.

8. What was the name of the first person you ever kissed? Not including family members, Greg Payne. I think we were both about 7. First "French" kiss was with ex-fiance Mike Turner when I was 17.

9. What was the name of the school you attended as a child? Kate Sessions Elementary School (K-6), Pacific Beach Junior High School (7-9), Samuel Gompers Secondary School (10-12).

10. What was/is the name of your English teacher in high school? I has several; the one I remember is Mr. Turner.

11. Do you name your vehicles? What are the name(s)? I haven't since I named my parents' big station wagon "Bella the Feminist Car" after bella Abzug, when I was about 10.
