Rats first -- at least one baby has died :( It is fairly common in the first couple of days, but still.... The remaining babies are a bunch of little cuties. I can see their markings starting to come in, and eye color (mostly dark, a few red). They are VERY noisy. ben and I fall asleep every night listening to them squeaking. Squeak means one of two things: "Mom, you're stepping on me!" or "Mom, I'm not a tasty snack so don't eat me!" In a few days, it will also mean, "Hey, Bro (or Sis), that's MY nipple you just stole!"
The wedding is coming together. I spent a LOT of money for freeze dried rose petals for Ben's nieces to strew. Unlike fresh petals, they do not stain. The girls will be happy; one of them did not want to be a flower girl if she could not strew petals :) Apparently she has been a flower girl before, at some place where petal-strewing was not allowed.
I am, I will admit, having buyer's remorse about my dress. It's a lovely dress, but ... I have seen several dresses recently I like even more. All, unlike mine, are two pieces -- a corset-style bodice with a full skirt. All, like mine, have colored accents.
I spent some time with my other sweetie marmota last night. He's depressed about being jobless, but otherwise fine in his usual grumpy way. Sometimes he can be a bit grim... as if he thinks people should not "have fun" if they have _any_ "work" (broadly defined) that they have not done yet. I won't speculate further about his psychodynamics in this semi-public forum, for now
