Our friend Jen S. came up to do yardwork today. The yard is a mess, thanks to being overgrown with weeds last year. Jen did a lot and will come back to do more next weekend :)

Of note was that my order from St. Lawrence Nurseries arrived a couple of days ago. This is the company owned by JBVB's friend Bill McKelvey, whose daughter Bali worked for Jocelyn a couple of summers ago. They sell really nice plants -- mostly "edible landscaping" including about 100 varieties of apples -- for cold-winter climates. And Bill is a real character, and knows *everything* about his specialty. I ordered 8 lowbush blueberries and a pie cherry tree. It all got planted today. The blueberries are already leafing out and the cherry tree is a wee 3 foot "whip" but it's quite healthy.

I did a variety of other garden-y things, including following Jen around, and by the time it was all over, I had a little bit of sunburn on my face. Not good given my family history of skin cancer, but yet more evidence that the seasons are moving towards warmer....
